Streaming video platform Twitch launched Turbo today, a new premium service through which subscribers can view live broadcasts free from advertisements, the company announced.

Turbo will allow users to watch live video game streams without interruptions or advertising displays. Subscribers will also have access to several cosmetic chat additions, including the exclusive Turbo Badge, Turbo-only chat colors and a new set of emoticons.

Turbo users will also be prioritized when contacting Twitch's customer support center, ensuring users of the company's enhanced service "get into the front of the line" when they need assistance.

Turbo is currently available for $8.99 a month and can be purchased through Turbo's official page.

"The Twitch community loves watching video games, chatting, and broadcasting," said Twitch CEO Emmett Shear in a press statement. "The average viewer watches over an hour and a half of video each day. Over two-thirds of our logged-in users chat each day.

"We wanted to find a way to provide the ultimate Twitch experience," he added. "We're very excited to launch it, and we'll be looking to the community to help us make Twitch Turbo even ... ultimatier."

Last week Twitch announced that it has partnered with Activision and developer Treyarch to bring a new instant in-game streaming service to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
